CONWAY POLICE COMMISSION
MINUTES OF MEETING
June 15, 2010
The regularly scheduled meeting of the Conway Police Commission was brought to order at 0830 hours on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. In attendance were Chief Edward K. Wagner, Lieutenant Christopher C. Perley, Chairman Robert F. Porter, Commissioner Theresa L. Kennett, Commissioner David D. Doherty and Recording Secretary Jill K. Dicey.
Payroll and disbursements were handed out and signed.
On a motion by Commissioner Doherty, and seconded by Commissioner Kennett, it was unanimously voted to approve the minutes of June 1, 2010.
Chief Wagner advised he has received a resignation letter from Dispatcher Lynne Cota, which at her request, was effective immediately. On a motion by Commissioner Kennett, and seconded by Commissioner Doherty, it was unanimously voted to accept the resignation of Dispatcher Lynne Cota.
Chief Wagner updated the Commission on the status of the staff. There is currently one opening in patrol due to Lt. Faia's resignation and one opening in Dispatch. A candidate for the open dispatch position, Maura Sutton, is scheduled to go before the commission in two weeks to be interviewed. Another opening is expected in Patrol in September when Sgt. McKenzie retires. A possible plan to fill that opening is to move Dispatcher Dominic Torch to patrol and pick-up the dispatch applicant that finished first in the last process ( she was too young at the time) to fill his spot in Dispatch.
Lt. Perley advised that Officer Ryan Daigle is half way through the academy and is doing very well.
Chief Wagner advised that the new Crown Vic cruiser is in and the new Expedition should be in before the end of the month. Commissioner Doherty asked which vehicle is being removed from the fleet. Chief Wagner advised the Ford Explorer. Commissioner Kennett asked where the old cruisers go. Chief Wagner advised to the Town for their use.
At 0838, a motion was made by Commissioner Kennett, and seconded by Commissioner Doherty to move into non-public session per RSA 91-A: 3, II (a). The Commission was polled and voted as follows: Porter, yes, Doherty, yes, Kennett, yes. With a unanimous vote, the meeting was moved into non-public session.
At 0932, the public session reconvened.
At 0932, on a motion by Commissioner Doherty, and seconded by Commissioner Kennett, it was unanimously voted to adjourn the regularly scheduled commission meeting.
Respectfully submitted,
Jill K. Dicey,
Recording Secretary
